Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Cardstack is built to work entirely on your device. This policy is short because there isn't much to say.

What we collect

Nothing. Cardstack has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no servers. We do not collect, store, or have access to any of your personal information, study data, or usage activity.

What's stored, and where

Everything you create in Cardstack, your subjects, stacks, cards, study progress, streak, and settings, is stored locally on your device only. None of it is transmitted anywhere, backed up to any server we control, or visible to us in any form.

If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it. We have no way to recover it, because we never had it.

Notifications

If you turn on study reminders, these are scheduled locally on your device using Apple's standard notification system. No data about your reminders, study habits, or usage is sent to us or anyone else to make this work.

Third parties

Cardstack does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software of any kind. We don't know how many people use the app, how often, or what they study. No data leaves your device.

Children's privacy

Because Cardstack collects no data from anyone, this applies equally to children. There is nothing to collect, regardless of the age of the person using the app.

Changes to this policy

If this ever changes, for example if we introduce optional cloud sync in a future version, we'll update this page and make clear what's changed and what choice you have about it. Nothing changes retroactively or without your knowledge.
