The flashcard app

Memorise anything.

Cardstack is a flashcard app built for memorising things properly, dates, definitions, exam material, whatever you need to actually know rather than vaguely recognise. Type your answer, get tested, repeat, until you properly know it.

3

Add cards

A question, an answer. Add a few or a hundred, then pick a study mode and start.

One flow, three stages

Read it. Learn it. Prove it.

Three study modes for every stack: Absorb to read it, Practice to type it, Test to prove it.

👁

Absorb

Cards flip automatically. No pressure, just read and take it in.

Practice

Type your answers. Three correct in a row masters a card. Typos are forgiven.

Test

Three correct, no typos forgiven. Any mistake resets the card to zero.

Built on repetition to memorise

Three in a row.
That's mastery.

Most revision rewards recognition, not recall. You see an answer, think "yes, obviously," and move on having learned almost nothing, until it matters and it's gone. Cardstack is built around active recall instead: actually retrieving something from memory, not just recognising it. Get it wrong and it doesn't get skipped, it goes straight back into the queue. You can't mark yourself correct, the card decides.

Who it's for

Built for anyone who needs to actually know it.

Students GCSEs, A-levels, finals, the usual.
Professionals Licensing exams, CFA, bar, nursing boards, actuarial.
Career-changers New terminology, medical coding, real estate, a new industry's jargon.
Language learners A handful of phrases before a trip, or real vocabulary built properly.
Hobbyists Capitals, history, trivia, whatever you're into.
Pub quiz regulars For anyone who's "so nearly" got the answer, every single time. Seven times table included, no judgement.
Session complete

Mastered doesn't mean forgotten about.

Once a stack's mastered, it comes back on a schedule, 3 days, then 7, then 14, then 30, the same repetition that got it into memory in the first place, just spaced further apart each time. That's what actually keeps it there.
